The Path Home – Online Retreat: 17-19 november, 17-20:00 CET

We all long for home. We may have ideas about what home is or where it is located. We can experience our home in many different ways and levels. To be home, we have to be here. As long as our minds are dispersed going somewhere else, we cannot enjoy the well-being of being at home. When we are at home, we can be satisfied, inspired, safe and find our place in life. This kind of home is portable, it is not limited to one dwelling place, we can call it our deep heart. When body, emotions, mind, consciousness are united in the moment, we are alive, we are at home.

In this way, we can begin to realize that the path and the home cannot be separated. Loneliness, restlessness, inadequacy and other suffering we become aware of during the retreat are also welcome. When we can face our suffering and allow it into our life and home, there is an opportunity to embrace and heal. We can transform and develop.

This retreat is grounded in Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village tradition of engaged and applied Buddhism. When a group of people come together, a community of openness and care is formed, it will contribute to nurture joy, peace, love and freedom in all of us.

Jem – Chan Phap Ho leads this retreat. He is a Dharma teacher in Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village tradition since 2010, (monk 2003-2020). Jem will offer daily teaching on the theme of The Noble Eightfold Path (The fourth of Buddha’s Four Noble Truths). One of the eight aspects is mindfulness, which helps us feel, experience and become aware of what is happening within and around us moment by moment. The others help us both in our meditation practice and our daily life.

A special treat for this retreat is that Emma Dinmali will offer a live online session on EFT tapping (emotional freedom technique) which can help us in exploring our limited and wrong views, take care and heal difficult memories and emotions. This will take place Saturday, Nov 18 at 20:30-21:30 CET.

During the daily three hour live online sessions there will be guided meditation, teaching, reflection excercises, sharing in groups, music and silent meditation. Every day you will also be offered a pre-recorded audio with inspiration for outdoor walking meditation, eating meditation and deep relaxation.
